Search for the Truth: P D Ouspensky in Russia and England
An Exhibition and Conference at Colet House :
25 June - 1 July 2007
This exhibition and conference will enlarge upon two important periods in the development of the thought and teaching of the Russian Fourth Way philosopher and teacher Peter Demianovich Ouspensky (1878-1947). The exhibition and conference will be held in Colet House, Barons Court, in the same rooms where Ouspensky held his final lectures in 1947.
THE EXHIBITION deals with Ouspensky's life and teaching in two periods:
- the Russian period - 1878 to 1915 - relying on recently discovered archival evidence and recent publications which throw light on his life and on the cultural influences of his time.
- The English period - 1921 to 1941 - based mainly on material from private photographic collections and archives describing the development of his teaching and spotlighting some of the associated people and places.
EXHIBITION: Mon. 25 - Fri .29 June, 6-9 pm.

THE CONFERENCE draws together an unique gathering of international scholars to discuss the Russian and English periods and also comment on Ouspensky's contribution to 20th century thought

- Peter McGregor Eadie: Ouspensky in England
- Prof. Jacob Needleman: Ouspensky's contribution to philosophy
CONFERENCE: Sat.30 June and Sun. 1 July, 10 am-6 pm. The two days will be similar in content. Conference Fee: £50 for non-members; £10 for members. Price includes exhibition entry and food.
